Wrist-Mounted Blaster

The goal of this project was to create gun that can be attached to one's hand, yet still allow for the user to hold other items/guns. The process for making this blaster took a lot of planning and experimenting, but my final design ended up being a glove-type device that does not use a trigger. The mechanism I used to fire is still not as durable as it could be, but with the materials at my disposal, this is the best I could come up with. However, its simple enough that anyone can use it. |
I started with some sheets of polycarbonate and a NERF Nitefinder. |

I took the plunger tube out of the Nitefinder and glued it onto a square of polycarbonate whose sides were the approximate width of the tube. |

I then created a box with a wide base (about the width of my arm) around the plunger tube. In between this step and the last, the front of the plunger tube was glued on so that it doesn't fall apart inside. |

I then gave the box slanted sides for style and a coat of paint, and added a trapezoidial piece of polycarbonate was connected to the plunger tube arm (the part that pulls back to allow air into the tube.) The inner box is complete at this point. |

Now, I attached rectangular pieces to the trapezoid in order to create a way to pull the tube back. This is currently the weakest part of the blaster. |

The wide base not only rests on my arm... |

...but also is where the glove and velcro strap attach. These allow for one-handed shots, while the other hand still holds something else. the paint that I chose was black for stealth and the green paint has a sand mix in, allowing for someone to pull the mechanism back without it slipping. |

Just a shot with a dart in. |
